Details: Every moment spent outdoors will be more meaningful after you start to notice the birds all around. Basics taught include recognizing common birds and their songs, and how to use binoculars. Bring your own binoculars. $5/person members, $8/person non-members.

Shield Me with a Turtle Shell @ Wave Hill
When: Saturday May 16, 2015 10am-1pm
Where: Wave Hill Garden, Bronx, NY
Details: Marvel at the beautiful protective shell of the turtle. Use fabric and leather scraps to design and decorate a stuffed, wearable turtle-shell backpack of your own. Then wearing our shells, we’ll gather outside, and, moving at a turtle’s pace, we’ll waltz in an oh-so-slow parade.  Free, and admission to the grounds is free until noon.

Muddy Sneakers @ Greenburgh Nature Center

Butterfly Release @ Rye Nature Center

Details: Want to see more butterflies in your own backyard? Learn what plants attract butterflies and caterpillars. Program will end with a butterfly release. Program free. Butterfly orders must be in by April 10th. $10/butterfly members, $15/butterfly non-members.

Dance Parade and Festival @ NYC

Details: Dance Parade celebrates diversity by showcasing all types of dances around the world through sponsorship of a yearly, citywide parade and festival. Dance Parade is from 1pm-3pm. See over 75 diverse dance styles, everyting from ballet to break dance. Dance Festival is from 3pm-7pm on 4 stages. Activities include dance performances, dance lessons, and dance party.

Details: Join a naturalist to discover the slippery, slimy, and cold-blooded world of amphibians. This informative and hands-on program lets you meet some local amphibians up close. Tours for Fours @ MOMA

Where: Museum of Modern Art, NYC
Details: Free Art Program for Four-year-olds and their caregivers. Look, listen, and share ideas while you explore modern and contemporary art. Kids must be four years old to attend this program. **This program is free for individual families of up to two adults and up to three kids. Programs begin in The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, at 4 West 54 Street (near Fifth Avenue)
