Rye Playland Opened its 2014 Season

Where: 100 Playland Pkwy, Rye
When: Weekends 12pm-7pm
Details: This is an amusement park with all kinds of rides and adventures. There is a kiddyland for the younger kids too. Take a stroll on the Rye Beach nearby after rides in the park.
Fees: May 2014 Day Pass: $15; June-Aug $20 Juniors under 48" and $30 Adults.
Spectator (No Rides): Free for Westchester Residents, $10 for Non-residents
Parking: $7 on the weekend.
2014 Season Pass: $80 for Westchester Residents, $95 for Non-residents

May Flower Fun @ Wildflower Garden

Where: Trailside Nature Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Route 35 & 121 in Cross River, NY
Details: The 1/2-acre Luquer-Marble Memorial Wildflower Garden was created in 1955. The garden is located behind the Museum. In addition to the lovely wildflowers that bloom in spring, this enchanting garden space features a small stream, stone bridge, and wooden benches. Although April and May are the most colorful months to visit the garden, it is a beautiful, contemplative space year-round.

Kite Day

When: Saturday, May 17 @ 11am-3pm (rain date: May 18th)
Where: Davenport Avenue, New Rochelle
Details: The event will feature free kite day activity, door prizes, healthy tasting sample, health & wellness expo...and much more activities!!! Kites available or bring your own kite! Music provided by Third Stone DJ!

Dr. Seuss and Clifford Storytime

Where: 2614 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10710
When: Saturday May 17, 2014 Dr. Seuss at 11am and Clifford at 11:30am
Details: Kick off summer reading with Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Places You'll Go! and celebrates the adventures that lie ahead, whether out in the world or through the magic of books. Right after that, Clifford the Big Red Dog will visit. Stick around for Helen Perelman and the Marshmallow Mystery.

Real Frogs - Audible Frogs - Hot Dogs!
When: Saturday, May 17, 2014, 1:00PM - 4:00PM
Where: Cranberry Lake Preserve, North White Plains
Details: Ponding to discover tadpoles and other creatures and listen for sounds of spring, followed by hot dogs, veggie dogs and s'mores.

Critter Hunt
When: Sunday, May 18, 2014, 10:00AM - 12:00PM
Where: Muscoot Farm, NY
Detail: Join naturalist Eric Stone as he walks through the woods at Muscoot, searching for critters under rocks & logs.

One with the Clay
When: Sunday, May 18, 2014, 2:00PM
Where: Marshlands Conservancy, Rye
Details: Make natural items out of clay using Native American techniques. Fee $2; pre-registration required at (914) 835-4466.
