Westchester Children's Museum Open @ Rye

Westchester Children's Museum is now open for the season. It is located on the boardwalk at the Playland in Rye. The museum’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  http://discoverwcm.org/

Air Show @ Jones Beach, Long Island
When: Saturday and Sunday, May 23-24, 2015 12pm-5pm
Where: Jones Beach, Long Island
Details: Watch airshow on the beach. Free admission. Parking is $10. Bring sunscreen and beach gear. Arrive early as parking lot maybe full before 11am and they will turn people away if the lot is full.

Trolls and Tiaras @ Greenburgh Nature Center
When: Saturday May 23, 2015 1pm
Where: 99 Domore Rd, Scarsdale
Details: Celebrate the magic of the forest as we scout the woods for fairies, trolls, and gnomes. Hear some mythical lore, build fairy and troll houses, and more. Costumes are encouraged! Members $5/person, Non-Members $8/person

Celebration Parade Family Art Project @ Wave Hill
When: Saturday May 23, 2015 10am-1pm
Where: Wave Hill Garden, Bronx, NY
Details: Mother Nature seems to burst out in spring, and so will we as we celebrate 25 years of the Family Art Project and 50 years of Wave Hill! Come bring your thanks and spirit to the Family Art Project, where we’ll be making simple flower shakers and leafy costumes. Birds in Flight @ Bronx Zoo
When: Saturday-Sunday, May 23-24, 2015  11:30am and 2pm
Details: Join us on Astor Court on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a thrilling aerial display. "JetBlue presents Birds in Flight by ABCC" will showcase a variety of birds. Not just on a stage, but above your head. Don't miss these impressive fliers in action.

Opening Weekend Family Festival @ Governor's Island
When: Sunday, May 24, 2015 Noon - 4pm
Where: Governor's Island, NYC
Details: The Family Festival celebrates the Island’s future, playful nature and free-range attitude. The Family Festival will again kick off an exciting summer of programming on Governors Island. Highlights of the festival include: puppet-making with Lisa Abbatomarco, hand-made Trout Crowns and Sharks Galore with NY Aquarium, story-making with Story Pirates, the Central Park Zoo Wildlife Theater’s Butterfly Boogie, Arm of the Sea’s Hook, Line, and Sinker, compost learning and animal care with Earth Matter, flower planting with the Trust for Governors Island, live music, ice cream, face painting and tons of fun! All performances and activities are FREE to the public.
Note: The Governor's Island which is only open during the summer months will be opening this weekend. Free ferries from Brooklyn and Manhattan are available and will begin running on the usual summer schedule starting this weekend.

Nature Storytime @ Greenburgh Nature Center
