Details: Discover the secret lives of our favorite feathered nocturnal friends — the owls. Take a look at an owl's role in the food chain with participants dissecting an owl pellet. Meet our new non-releasable teaching barred owl, Willow, and discover the types of owls that call Connecticut home. Then, head out into the woods to call for our local owl species, who at this time of year will be preparing for winter. Limited enrollment. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Gingerbread Man Candy Dish @ Home Depot

Details: Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can create a beautiful Gingerbread Candy Dish. Once the candy holder is built, your child can decorate it with stickers to give their gingerbread mana cheery holiday smile.

Nutcracker Ballet @ Tarrytown

Holiday Train Show @ Scarsdale

Details: Train lovers of all ages will love the HO gauge model trains on display among replicas of area landmarks, courtesy of Yonkers Model Railroad Club. Members of the club will be on-site to answer questions. Free for members, Non-members: Adults $10, Seniors $9, Children 2 to 12 $8. Children under age 2 are free. Includes admission to all Manor House exhibits.

Holiday Train Show @ New York Botanical Garden

Details: For the 25th anniversary of NYC's favorite winter tradition, enchanting model trains zip through a display of 150 landmarks, each re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials under the twinkling glow of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
