Saltbush Musical @ New Victory Theater

When: May 30 - June 8 2014  50minutes performance with no intermission
Where: New Victory Theater, Time Square, Manhattan, NY
Age: Appropriate for ages 4+
Detail: Performed by artists from Italy and Australia. Embark on a magical trek across the Australian outback and discover the language, lore and music of its indigenous culture in SALTBUSH. Kids are invited to kick off their shoes and join the dancers to play on the interactive performance space. Amongst a kaleidoscope of aboriginal imagery and the sound of didgeridoos, they'll ride on the backs of sea turtles and leap among the stars. From the creators of The Butterfly Garden (New Vic 2010), SALTBUSH will have your senses soaring and your imagination running wild. (P.S. All seats for SALTBUSH are on the New Vic stage!)

Previews of Westchester children's Museum

When: June 2 to September
The Westchester Children's Meseum (WCM) will be settling in the North Bathhouse on the broadwalk of Rye Playland and the opening is planned for 2015. As a preview, this summer from June 2 thru September 2014, there will be creative exhibits that allow for exploration in science, technology, engineering, art, and architecture. The first of two interactive exhibits, “KEVA Planks,” is an interactive experience comprised of thousands of small, uniform building planks yielding endless creation possibilities. The second exhibit, “Build a Rollercoaster,” is an interactive, hands-on experience that allows children to create their own roller coaster, from design phase to testing phase.

Mermaid Mobile @ Lakeshore Learning Center
Where: 969A Central park Avenue, Scarsdale, NY
When: Saturday May 31, 2014 11am-3pm
Detals: Lakeshore Learning Center offers free kids crafts activity every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. This upcoming Saturday, we will be making mermaid mobile that twinkles as it turns.

Moving Forest @ Wave Hill Garden

When: Saturday May 30 and Sunday June 1 2014
Where: Wave Hill Garden, Bronx, NY
Details: Join visiting artist Virva Hinnemo as she creates a child-sized forest with movable parts out of cardboard and tempera paint. Who will live and play in this forest? Make a mini inchworm pet or turn yourself into a brightly striped inchworm and together we’ll parade or walk or inch along inside the forest.
Free, and admission to the grounds is free until noon.

Nature Adventures @ Greenburgh Nature Center
Saturday May 31 2pm Muddy Sneakers – This program is designed to introduce the wonders of the natural world. Put down the Legos and pick up a stick! Join along on this wild excursion through the Nature Center's woods, puddles and fields as we play in and with nature. Members $5, Non-members $8
Sunday June 1 11:30am Teaching Trails - Guided Trail Experience through the woodland forest. Discover who left that track, which tree makes the best animal home, or which mushrooms make the best dinner. Program runs approximately 45 minutes. FREE!

Albanian Heritage Festival @ Kensico Dam

Fire Making @ Muscoot Farm

Details: Learn how to build a campfire with naturalist Eric Stone. Participants will have a choice of matches, flint & steel or bow drill. Bring food to roast!
