Maker Faire @ NY Hall of Science

Details: Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Meet the Animals @ Greenburgh Nature Center

Halloween Carnival @ Pottery Barn Kids
When: Saturday, Sept 20, 2014 3-5pm
Where: Pottery Barn Kids, Westchester Mall
Details: Get into the holiday spirit early with this spooktacular event! Little ones are invited to enjoy treats, face painting, crafts, and games while boo-tique experts match them to their favorite costumes.

Touch-a-truck @ Tuckahoe
When: Saturday, September 20, 2014 10am-3pm
Where: Immaculate Conception School Field, l53 Winterhill Road and White Plains Road (Rte 22) Tuckahoe, New York, 10707
Details: Trucks like a cherry picker, concrete, construction, fire, ambulance, and more. This year's event will feature a face painter and balloon artist, bounce house, and exhibits by Main Street Pediatrics and Au Pair in America. The Bossy Frog Band will perform live at 10:30am

Spicy Paper @ Wave Hill
When: Saturday and Sunday Sept 20-21 10am-1pm
Where: Wave Hill, Bronx
Details: Mix up pulp and spice to add some real flavor to your very own handmade paper. Visiting papermaking pro Randy Brozen will show you how to use household spices—like cumin, chili and turmeric—and other natural items for a naturally pigmented papermaking extravaganza.

Yoga for Children @ Scarsdale Athleta Store
When: Sunday Sept 21, 2014 10am-11am
Where: Scarsdale Athleta Store, 700 Post Rd, Scarsdale
Details: Free kids yoga class for 3.5 to 6 year olds. It is a fun-filled class of yoga poses, music, massage and peacetime! Class size is limited to 12 so please call (914)723-0961 to reserve your spot.  Mats will be provided.  A parent will need to sign a waiver for each child. Moms come and shop while your children enjoy this fun filled class!

Oktoberfest @ Bear Mountain
When: Saturday and Sunday 12pm-6pm every weekend thru Oct 26.
Where: Bear Mountain State Park
Details: Spend the afternoon enjoying German food and beer at Bear Mountain State Park. Traditional German entertainment and craft vendors are only the start of the celebration. Free Admission. $8 Parking.
