Museum Day @ Various Locations
When: Saturday Sept 24, 2016
Details: In celebration of history and art (not to mention the Smithsonian’s free admission policy), over 1,300 museums around the country open their doors to the public free of charge. Previous years included family-friendly favorites like the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, the Skyscraper Museum, El Museo Del Barrio, the NYC Fire Museum and the Museum of Arts and Design. Apple Cidering and Fall Hike @ Rye Nature Center
When: Saturday, Sept 24 2016, 1pm
Details: Families will learn about the cidering process, press some apples of their own, sample cider, and take a seasonal walk. Suggested for ages 4 to 7. $5/person members, $8/person non-members.

Hudson River Seining
When: Saturday Sept 24 2016 11:30am-1pm 
Where: Croton Point Park Beach, Croton-on-Hudson
Details: Find out what is living in the Hudson with naturalist John Phillips at the beach as he nets fish and other marine life and discusses this estuarine habitat.

Art in Nature: Painting Outdoors

Where: Read Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye
Details: Get tips and instruction on how to capture the "en plein air" -- or painting outdoors -- quality of light and open space. The program is primarily for experienced painters but all are welcome. Bring your own paint materials.

Fall Seining Extravaganza
When: Saturday, Sept 24, 2016 2-3:30PM
Where: Marshlands Conservancy, Rye
Details: Wear clothes that can get wet and help catch, study, and release marine life off the shore of the sanctuary.

Meet the Animals @ Greenburgh Nature Center
When: Sunday Sep 25 2016, 2pm
Where: Greenburgh Nature Center, Scarsdale
Details: Join us for a fun and informative program that allows you to get up-close and hands-on with some of the Nature Center's live animals. Program concludes with feeding the birds of prey. Members $5/person, Non-members $8/person

Fall Harvest Festival @ Fishkill Farms

Renaissance Faire @ Tuxedo Park
When: Saturdays and Sundays through Oct 2 10am-7pm
Where: Tuxedo Park, NY
Details: A Renaissance Faire is a recreation of a Renaissance or Medieval village. It is filled with costumed actors, crafts and games to give patrons the illusion that they have stepped back in time. The New York Renaissance Faire features more than 125 performances on 20 stages, and over 100 craftspeople, all set within 65 acres of beautiful forest.
