Kids Program: a beaded tapestry @ Neuberger Berman Museum

Details: Family Second Saturdays feature art experiences for the whole family, with conversations and hands-on workshops. Come and learn about Zondlile Zondo, a Zulu woman whose brilliant beaded tapestry hangs now in the African art gallery.  Make your own tapestry and discover the challenges and opportunities that working with beads can offer! Free admission for all program participants.

Teddy Bear Caterpillars @ Wave Hill Garden
When: Saturday Oct 11, 2014 10am-1pm
Where: Wave Hill Garden
Details: Legend has it that the sections of a woolly bear caterpillar can be used to forecast the coming winter weather. Adorn a sock puppet with fur, yarn, hair and button eyes to create your own cuddly, teddy bear caterpillar pal—and make your own weather predictions. Free, and admission to the grounds is free until noon.

Star Wars Reads Day @ The Voracious Reader

Sesame Street Live @ Westchester County Center

Details: "Let's Dance" is coming to the Westchester County Center October 10-12. Sesame Street Live offers an up-close, interactive experience that includes dance parties. Elmo uses his imagination to 'Do the Robot,' Cookie teaches all 'feets' to dance, and Ernie shares the fun of dance with the Sesame Street favorite "Shake Your Head One Time." Favorite friends join the audience on the floor – dancing with fans, not just for them.

Fall Festival @ Scarsdale

When: Sunday Oct 12, 2014 11am-3pm
Where: Greenburgh Nature Center
Details: Join us for scarecrow building, pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, cider making, meeting the animals, scavenger hunts, tractor rides, and more. Fee if pre-registered by Oct. 11: Members $5 per person, Non-members $10 per person , Children under 2 free (on-line registration only). Fee day of event: Members $8 per person, Non-members $15 per person, Children under 2 free. $5 per pumpkin, $2 per scarecrow building.

Annual Halloween Train Show @ Somers
When: Saturday and Sunday 11am-3:30pm

Boo at the Zoo @ Bronx Zoo When: Weekends Oct 4 through Nov 2, 2014

Tours for Four @ MOMA

Where: Museum of Modern Arts, NYC
Details: Look, listen, and share ideas while you explore modern and contemporary art. Movement, drawing, and other gallery activities give everyone the chance to participate. Each month a new theme is introduced. Note: Kids must be four years old to attend this program. Younger siblings will be allowed to accompany the group, but the participating child must be four. Admission is free. No preregistration. Tickets are distributed at the Education and Research Building reception desk starting at 10:00 A.M.
