Details: Calling all "Ryebrary Readers" in Grades 1 & 2.  Join the librarians for a once-a-month snack and chat about fun books that lend themselves to lively discussions. October's book is Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman.  

Tiny Terrariums @ Wave Hill
Details: Saturday Oct 24 2015 10am-1pm
Where: Wave Hill Garden, Bronx, NY
Details: Create your very own mini-terrarium in a recycled glass jar that we provide, or bring in one of your own. Craft a small world to house a succulent bud through the winter. Add layers of sand, tiny rocks and natural materials, or even a tiny creature to live within your take-home nursery. Free, and admission to the grounds is free until noon.

Scarecrows & Pumpkins Parade @ Greenburgh Nature Center
When: Sunday Oct 25, 2015 11am-3pm
Where: Greenburgh Nature Center, Scarsdale
Details: A fun Halloween event for young children. Follow friendly scarecrows on our pumpkin trail and meet storybook characters along the way. Come in costume and enjoy cider, treats, and more! "Dino Trains" Annual Halloween Train Show @ Katonah

Where: Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial, Katonah
Details: A dinosaur-themed Halloween train show, with dinosaur dioramas and exhibits, and the movie "Rexy the the Dinosaur," along with a hay maze and hayrides. Admission $7 adults, $3 children ages 2 - 12. Additional fees for other activities.

Fridas Fall Harvest @ Bronx, NY
When: Now thru Nov 1, 2015
Where: New York Botanic Garden, Bronx, NY
Details: Autumn has arrived in the Everett Children's Adventure Garden! Take in the harvest-themed displays made from pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and hay bales, decorating the "Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life" exhibit, then celebrate the season with fall festivities. Kids acn play in the La Casita Azul kitchen, put on a show in Frida's Puppet Theater, make a self portrait featuring fall fruits, grind corn with a Mexican metate, create a wearable pumpkin-seed science experiment and look for butterflies. All ages.
